Houston as One of the Nation’s Most Fun Cities

Covered last week in CultureMap Houston, new marketing studies performed by EventBrite suggests that the Houston, TX community not only is the host of countless events, but its residents are actively participating in these events as well.

By looking at trends revealed through ticket sales data, experts from EventBrite studied twenty-five of the nation’s largest cities in an effort to discover what types of events were most popular in each area. They broke down the events into four categories: “Live Music & Concerts,” “Fitness Events,” “Food and Drink Events,” and “Art Events.” By ranking each city according to the popularity of these categories, they were able to place Houston No. 10 across the board. Houstonians are actively holding and attending tons of events!

In the “Live Music” category, Houston was able to secure the No. 3 spot in the nation, with our neighbor Austin, taking the No. 1 place. Our city also did well in the “Arts” ranking No. 4, just behind New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

In the “Food and Drink” category, Houston still placed high on the list at the No. 7 spot. The only category our city did not place highly in was “Fitness Events” as we pulled in at No. 13. However, even at No. 13 we were higher than the other Texas cities of Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth.
