Ways to Re-Purpose Common Kitchen Items

Have you ever misplaced a kitchen item or don’t wish to spend extra money on fancy kitchen tools? Well, we have a short list of ways to re-purpose kitchen utensils to make your experience in the kitchen easy.

We all love adding a spritz of acidity to our favorite dishes, but cutting and squeezing a lemon can create a sticky mess! Why not try using the tongs you have laying around! Simply cut the lemon in half and use the tongs to twist the juice on your dish. It also removes seeds easily!

Using a knife to cut garlic may not be the easiest method, so try to use a cheese grater if you have one handy. If you do not have a zester, the grater also works very efficiently to zest your lemons, limes and oranges.

If you do not have a multi-cooker or steamer to cook your veggies, just look for a common item in your kitchen to get the job done. Using a common spaghetti strainer, simply fill a pot halfway with water and place the veggies in the strainer. After you place the strainer inside the pot, cover and allow the steam to work its magic!
