Fort Bend County is continuing to move forward with plans of the Westpark Express, a new transportation system that is the first effort of the county to provide such a service to the northern end of Fort Bend. The Fort Bend County Transit is reviewing final plans for the park and ride system, which will service the north side of Westpark Tollway, between South Mason Road and Grand Mission Boulevard.
The transit lot will have around three-hundred parking spots and a covered pavilion to protect customers and their vehicles. The project should be complete in 2016 with a ten bus fleet that hopes to make at least 100 runs a day. The end-goal for the Westpark Express is to help alleviate the increasing traffic along I-10 and the Westpark Tollway.
