Channel 2 recently investigated property values for the Houston, TX area to see what factors played a role. By owning a home that is near a prominent highway or a major retail center, you may find yourself shelling out more property taxes than you counterparts. Spokesmen of the Harris County Appraisal District, Jack Barnett, states that home values are firmly tied to the location of your home.
In Fort Bend County, the areas with the largest property tax increased since 2009 are:
- 77407 near the Grand Parkway and the Westpark Tollway
- 77441 near Fulshear
- 77494 near Katy Mills Mall
- 77469 in the Richmond area
