Did you know that Fort Bend County leads other counties when it comes to diversifying the culture of Houston? Yes, that’s right. Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research confirmed that Fort Bend is the most diverse county in the Houston area, and it also ranks highly in positive feelings about ethnic diversity.
Breaking it down a little more, the county is made up of 36% white, 21% black, 20% Latino, and 20% Asian and other. The strength of the demographic shift has prompted sociologist Stephen Klineberg to say it’s the “single most ethnically diverse county in the world…This is where the American future is going to be worked out.”
