Fulshear is Fort Bend’s New Hot Spot

Fushear’s economic development director has reported that the population of Fulshear has increased by more than four hundred percent in the last decade. That is impressive.  However, the biggest growth to Fulshear and the western portion of Katy is yet to come.  Much of the past growth can be directly related to the close proximity to the Energy Corridor.  However, the future extension of the Westpark Toll Road and widening of FM 1093, will bring more residents who want to move further west.  They remember the way Memorial used to be and are discovering that Fulshear provides the allure of a unique lifestyle immersed in an abundance of natural beauty.

In a recent Houston Chronicle article, Fort Bend has become one of the top growing counties in our country. The Chief Appraiser of the county, Glen Whitehead, reports that this market is one of the strongest he has seen. He reports that the city of Fulshear, which includes residents of Cross Creek Ranch, Weston Lakes and Fulbrook, is leading all Fort Bend cities when appraising property at market value.  Importantly, the area will have a fifty percent jump in property tax revenue, while still having the lowest tax rate of all the counties in the area.
