Houston ranks very highly in careers that involve manufacturing, finance, and engineering; it also ranks number one for health care careers because of the Texas Medical Center. Lastly, Houston has a very low cost of living when compared to other cities in the nation. People can stretch their paychecks relatively far, and many are even able to save a portion.
