How to Increase the Value of Your Home

Before you start any home renovations, it is important to investigate which ones will provide worth to you home and which ones will distract from it. Should you put a pool in the backyard? Should you upgrade to marble countertops? These and more are questions we ask ourselves when a home for sale needs a value upgrade.

DO

  • Upgrade the kitchen – Consider adding exquisite, granite counter tops or new appliance fixtures.
  • Spice up the bathroom- Make sure toilets aren’t cracked and maybe add an eye-catching vanity!
  • Built in speakers/surround sound- High tech homes stand out and will impress buyers.

            DON’T

  • Put in a pool- Some homebuyers don’t want to deal with the maintenance of a pool.
  • Laying carpet- These days it’s all about the natural hardwood flooring.
  • Renovate garage – Most buyers want a garage to be as is where they can have storage and protection for their vehicles, not another family room.
