Before you start any home renovations, it is important to investigate which ones will provide worth to you home and which ones will distract from it. Should you put a pool in the backyard? Should you upgrade to marble countertops? These and more are questions we ask ourselves when a home for sale needs a value upgrade.
DO
- Upgrade the kitchen – Consider adding exquisite, granite counter tops or new appliance fixtures.
- Spice up the bathroom- Make sure toilets aren’t cracked and maybe add an eye-catching vanity!
- Built in speakers/surround sound- High tech homes stand out and will impress buyers.
DON’T
- Put in a pool- Some homebuyers don’t want to deal with the maintenance of a pool.
- Laying carpet- These days it’s all about the natural hardwood flooring.
- Renovate garage – Most buyers want a garage to be as is where they can have storage and protection for their vehicles, not another family room.
