Quick Indoor Workout this Winter

During the winter season, it is always easier to stay cuddled under a blanket with your favorite warm beverage. Don’t let the cold weather be an excuse to avoid your typical exercise routine. A few minutes of exercise a day can help boost your mood, lower your stress levels, and even improve your sleep. Below is a quick workout you can do indoors and right in your living room!

Warm Up: 3 MINUTES

To get your heart pumping, do a little warm up! Repeat this list twice if you wish.

  • Start by doing jump rope, with or without a rope (30 to 60 seconds)
  • Then, do a little running in place with high knees (30 to 60 seconds)
  • Lastly, do step up on your stairs or small stool (30 to 60 seconds)

Workout: 5 MINUTES

  • Lunges: Do lunges to the front, side or back. Do them slowly (10 repetitions)
  • Wall Sits: With you back against a wall, pretend like your sitting in an invisible chair (30 to 60 seconds)
  • Push Ups: Do regular pushups, on your knees, or with your feet elevated on a piece of furniture (10 repetitions)
  • Calf Raises: Use the stairs or stool to get a better result (10 repetitions)
  • Triceps Dip: With hands on your couch and legs extended an angle to the floor, dip yourself down to work the back of your arms (10 repetitions)
